Draft day is finally here with the 2024 NFL Draft well underway many were wondering which Nittany Lion would go off the board first. Now, ex-Penn State football offensive tackle Olu Fashanu has been selected by the New York Jets 11th overall in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The Jets selected Fashanu in the the first round and hope to have an anchor on the offensive line which he proved to be during his time at Penn State.
Olu Fashanu heard his name called by Commissioner NFL Roger Goodell when he announced that the New York Jets were using the 11th pick to draft the former Nittany Lion. He was a team captain for the Nittany Lions in 2023 and he appeared in 12 games where he did not allow a sack in 382 pass blocking reps.
Fashanu was a four-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class when he committed to Penn State. He attended Gonzaga High School where he was teammates with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft Caleb Williams. Now, Fashanu starts the next chapter of his journey with the Jets.
